How to say "wherever" in German
Useful German Expression: “Wo auch immer” – this German phrase means “wherever” and can be used in almost the same way as its English counterpart:
“Du kannst arbeiten wo auch immer du willst.” – “You can work wherever you want.”
“Wo auch immer du bist, komm zurück!” – “Wherever you are, come back!”
In the extended “auch immer” family you can also find “wieso auch immer” / “weshalb auch immer” / “warum auch immer”, meaning “for whatever reason”. You can also use “wer auch immer” (“whoever”), “was auch immer” (“whatever”)… and for those of you who see the pattern, there are many more options with all types of w-question words… Try it!
