A tale of two pastries - Berliner & Amerikaner

Fun Fact: What do “Amerikaner” have in common with “Berliner”? That’s right – in German, they’re both tasty pastries!
While an “Amerikaner” is a black and white cookie (aka half and half cookie), a “Berliner” is basically a jam-filled doughnut (except in Berlin itself, where it’s known as “Pfannkuchen”).
